Great News!

Great News!

Let me give you a brief recap of all that happened:

We had the privilege of spending almost 2 weeks at AG headquarters in Springfield, doing pre-field orientation. We got to meet the staff and the leadership of the Asia Pacific region, hear their stories, and learn from their experiences. We were so excited to spend the time with other workers and their families, do training classes together, think through case studies, and just fellowship and get to know each other. We made some new friends, had some fun game nights, got to catch up with an old friend, and we got to see a couple that are going out to our old neck of the woods in Africa.

This painting was done by Jeremy’s grandmother, and was passed on to us by her.

Our kids absolutely loved the children’s program, their chiefs (teachers) and all the other kids, and learned so much about what it means to be a “third-culture kid”. They even got to have a cross-cultural food day, where they were offered a variety of foods that are uncommon/unusual, to try…Phin was so proud that she tried all the foods they had 🙂

We were so blessed and renewed by our time there and are even more excited to get to Japan now!

During the end of our last week at training, Jeremy got news that his grandma has passed away. So on our drive back up, we dropped him off at the airport so he could go spend a couple days with his family up in Oregon.

Phin and Ki love time with family at the cabin!

A little over a week after we got back home, my side of the family had a mini-family reunion at our family cabin up in South Dakota. It was so great to see so many aunts and uncles and cousins that we haven’t seen for awhile (some since before we left for Africa)! It was very restful and the kids loved playing at the beach and riding on Papa’s big boat.

Jeremy will be switching to part timewithin this next month so that he can spend more time focused solely on support raising. We will also be moving back into Omaha until we leave for Japan, which is exciting because it will allow us to have people over more often for dinner, meetings, and, of course…game nights with our friends.

Last of all, we have some GREAT NEWS!

We have PASSED the 50% mark of our monthly support goal!!

We will be giving more details about that in our next video update, which should be coming out in the next week…but needless to say:

…to have such an amazing team partnered with us.

We are still praying to have the rest of our support in by September 30th. And to God and all of you who make it possible for us to do what God has called us to do in Japan…Thank You!

Together with Lissa’s family
