Good news has come in a pair!
First of all:
Its official…we have finally received our approval to join AGWM! We will be going to Okinawa, Japan and are planning on leaving in July this next year. We finally do have an account number for those who would like to give, but it has not yet been completely set up. We will be sending more information out as we receive it, but as we just got the news, we are still working on details ourselves. 😉
We plan on sending out a more complete update hopefully later this week or next week, in order to better explain what we will be doing, as well as how to give, etc.
Settle baby number 3 is scheduled to arrive on November 16th (by C-section)! We still haven’t found out little one’s gender but we have picked a name…
In Daniel 3, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego were confronted by King Nebuchadnezzar… and they were told,
“I will give you one more chance to bow down and worship the statue I have made… But if you refuse, you will be thrown immediately into the blazing furnace. And then what god will be able to rescue you from my power?”
What was their response?
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”
We love this passage, and the faith and trust that they had in God, and hope that our little ones come to this same degree of faith in the face of a world which stands against them.
SO. We have chosen to name our third child “Azariah” – which is the Hebrew name of Abednego. The name means “Yahweh has helped.” 🙂
