13 Days

Yesterday, this is what I posted on our Facebook wall:

“It’s easy to get frustrated or angry at God when everything doesn’t happen like I want it to. We keep looking for the amazing story to happen like we’ve been told hundreds of times, but something more subtle is happening. Bit by bit, pledges and commitments are coming in. Then we find out that we have extra support from our one time fund which contributes. Then we find out that our support goal is actually about $650 less than we thought. Then we find more pledges that we didn’t know about. Just ran some numbers, and it seems that we are at about 81% now. Crazy! Where did that come from? Just last month we were at 22%. Then 30, then 40, then 50 and so on. God is doing something amazing, and to Him be all of the glory.”

Today, we spoke with the candidate director of our organization, thinking that we were at 85% support. Well, as it turns out we were wrong. There was – yet another – surprise donation of a sizable amount, and when combined with all of the support that had come in over the last few days, we found that we were actually at 91% support!

Unfortunately, 91% is not 100%.

The good news, however, is that because of how close we are and how quickly support has been coming in, we have been granted an extension for the final 9% to come in!

In other words:

We have until October 15th for the final monthly commitments, OR in one time support to come in.

I would encourage you to partner with us, and to do so not necessarily on our behalf, but your own. As Paul says in Philippians 4:17, “Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.”

Would you help us get the word out?

Finally, and most certainly not least: Thank you. Thank you to all of you who are holding us up in your prayers. Thank you for your diligence, for helping to spread the word, and for your heart. We could not do it without you.
